The Panton Select board will hold the first of two public hearings on January 14 at 6:30 pm at the Panton town offices, regarding the proposed Panton municipal charter amendment.

The purpose of this hearing is to discuss and provide comment on the Municipal Charter Amendment language, proposed by the Selectboard, proposed for vote on Town Meeting Day, March 4 2014.

The proposed amendment, if passed in Panton, and then at the legislature, would change the offices of Treasurer, Town Clerk, and Delinquent Tax Collector to appointed, rather than elected positions.
