Vermont Secretary of Agriculture, Chuck Ross, has been promoting Ag Literacy across the state, saying, "Ag literacy - understanding the 'who,' 'what,' and 'how' of where food comes from - came naturally to our parents and grandparents, who were closely connected to farming. It is essential that we instill this same understanding and appreciation in future generations."
The Varnum Memorial Library is hosting some events during Agricultural Literacy Week beginning Monday, November 13 at 7pm with John and Nancy Hayden's program, Farming and Gardening on the Wild Side and NOFA-VT's film Vermont Farm Kids: Rooted in the Land on Wednesday at 4pm. Stay tuned for other events happening at the library that week!
The Varnum Memorial Library is located at 194 Main Street in Jeffersonville, 644-2117.
