The 3rd annual Granite City 5K Run/Walk for Veterans is an event to celebrate the service of our men and women of the armed forces and raise awareness of the many challenges veterans endure. This event is presented by the Barre Partnership in partnership with Capstone Community Action. 100% of the profits of this event will go to Capstone Community Action in support of their veteran services whether that be heating assistance, food assistance or helping to develop job skills and much more.
The race participants can register online at https://tinyurl.com/yb46hkky or in person on race day. Registration is at the American Legion between 8:15-8:45AM with the race start in the parking lot of Capstone Community Action adjacent to the American Legion at 9:00AM Sharp. The race route makes its way from Capstone to the Barre Bike Path and is an out and back event. Race participants will receive a long sleeve athletic shirt and medals will be given out to the top three times in a number of age brackets. There is also a silent auction taking place to get a jump start on your holiday shopping!
