New Parent Workshop

Past event
Nov 15, 2017, 6 to 8 PM

If you are planning to welcome a new baby into your family sometime soon I would like to invite you to attend a workshop I am offering in a couple weeks. I am a mental health therapist specialized in supporting individuals through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenting.

It is hard to know what life will be like after a baby joins your family.

This workshop will help you:
-know what you can do to prepare to bring a new baby into your family
-identify your support network and figure out how to get them to give you the help you need
-build a self-care practice specific to your needs and interests
-recognize and manage the normal range of thoughts and feelings about becoming a parent
-understand the risk factors and warning signs for postpartum/new parent mental health concerns

This workshop will be a mix of learning and discussing issues around the transition into parenthood. During the workshop we will begin to develop a postpartum/new baby plan so that you get the support you need to care for yourself (or a new parent in your life) and the baby. You will leave this workshop with a resource booklet full of tools, tips, and resources to help you grow into the parent you want to be.

For more info please visit www.fionagriffincounseling.com/events or email me at fionagriffincounseling@gmail.com

This workshop will offer information and community building for individuals who are planning to be a primary care giver, or a partner, friend or family member who will be supporting a new parent (or experienced parents who are bringing another baby home) during the first days/weeks/months of a new baby's life. If you aren't sure if your situation fits this description please contact me directly and we'll chat about it - the goal is that this is an inclusive and safe space for all.

The cost is: $25/person including a resource book
