"The 13th," an Oscar-nominated film from Ava DuVernay, will be shown at Castleton University at 6 p.m. in Herrick Auditorium (Stafford Academic center).
The film traces today's mass incarceration of African Americans in the United States to the 13th Amendment which freed the slaves and prohibited slavery.
The event is free and open to the public, but there is limited seating, so please arrive early.
