Poverty in Vermont - Citizens' Forum Meeting

Past event
Nov 5, 2017, 4 to 5:30 PM

More than 1 in 8 central Vermonters live in poverty. Furthermore, more than 25% of Vermont households are one layoff or serious medical incident away from falling into poverty. Despite these startling numbers, creating a vibrant economy - an opportunity economy – in which all Vermonters thrive, is within our reach.

The next Citizens' Forum Meeting on Sunday, November 5th at 4pm at the ZenBarn will focus on the facts of poverty in our communities. We are thrilled to welcome Dan H. Hoxworth the Executive Director of from Capstone Community Action. We will LEARN about the real issues facing Lamoille and Washington counties and ACT on ways to help.

This isn't a political challenge or issue... its a humanitarian. And a local one. We hope to see our full community in support of this important discussion.

What: Poverty in Vermont - Citizens' Forum of Vermont Meeting
When: November 5th at 4pm - 5:30pm
Where: ZenBarn in Waterbury

Diaper & Wipes Drive! We are asking everyone to bring diapers and/or baby wipes as a donation to the meeting. Of course, financial donations to Capstone are welcome as well but we would like attendees to make a purchase of diapers and wipes to understand the costs many Vermonters are facing today. And we will then be able to provide tangible support to our communities in need.
