I'd like to invite you to join me for a complimentary 90-minute workshop that I'm hosting with financial representative Bill Bufkins from Thrivent Financial on Thursday, November 9th, 7:00PM at Coila Church titled “College Planning Strategies - Three things you never knew about college… and how it may save many families thousands!” As a parent of a senior and sophomore at CCS, this is information I want to know as they plan to enter college.
We will learn:
• the importance of incorporating a threefold approach to college planning: integrating academic, admissions, and financial strategies
• how your child can stand out from the crowd when applying to college
• the “magic of six” concept that makes it a financial necessity to apply to at least six different colleges
• why ACT/SAT preparation courses can be more beneficial than applying for scholarships
The workshop will run from 7:00pm to 8:30pm, and is being offered to area families who have high-school students. Doors will be open for registration at 6:30. The workshop is designed for all high school families with a special emphasis on those with sophomores and juniors. Students are welcomed, but not required, to attend along with their parents, grandparents, or others that support the student’s academic goals.
