I will be presenting to Congressman Welch small bundles of classy cards completed by regional constituents, urging the enactment of the Cancer Drug Parity Act (H.R. 1801) by Congress. This Act would enable oral cancer drugs to be covered by health insurance providers the same as drugs administered by IV. Too many people cannot get those life-saving drugs now because of the exorbitant costs to them. Rep. Welch has recently responded favorably in the interest of his constituents, and all citizens of our nation, by adding his name to the list of this bill’s sponsors.

As a multiple myeloma (blood cancer) patient-survivor, the Support Group Leader for this region, and member of the International Myeloma Foundation Advocacy ACTION Team, I am deeply grateful to Rep. Welch for his action, and believe that he should be recognized and honored accordingly. Please join me in attending this grass-roots event where you, too, can interact directly with your Congressman.
