Donation Firewood Volunteer Work Day

Past event
Oct 28, 2017, 9:30 AM to 1 PM

We have some Locust donated by Larry Zeno from near the 4-way stop in Monkton Boro. We will be processing into firewood and stacking at the Monkton Woodbannk storage area at Willowell (Bristol Rd, just north of Meader hill). This wood is for the Monkton Woodbank firewood donation program which provides firewood to families in need in the Monkton area.

We are looking for volunteers to help out. We can use people to cut, split, and stack, and help with site prep (clearing and setting up pallets on which to stack the firewood). We could use a couple of splitters, perhaps a truck or trailer or two (if we haven't already gotten the wood hauled over ahead of time), and a few people comfortable with chainsaws to cut the wood to length Chainsaw operators MUST have and use appropriate safety gear: chaps, eye & hearing protection. Work gloves and sturdy shoes suggested for other. hearing protection for splitter operators is encouraged.

I'm guessing we'll be done by Noon or 1:00, if we get a good group to help out.
