Green burial in Vermont is a newly viable option since Act 19 passed this summer allowing bodies to be buried at 3.5 feet rather than 5 feet. You, your neighbors, your friends, might have questions and lucky for all, there is a public talk this Saturday October 28th.
Wildlife biologist Carl Anderson who has been studying green burial for 15 years along with end-of-life specialist Michelle Acciavatti (who was also the sponsor for Bill H-3) will offer a presentation at the Common House at Sterling College. The talk is sponsored by Stardust Meadow and Sterling College and is free to the public. For more information please contact annemariekeppel@gmail.com
Please note: This talk was scheduled a couple of months ago and was based purely on convenience for all parties involved-- nothing to do with All Hallows Eve being a couple of days later. Green burial is pretty interesting all year round.
