Burlington Choral Society Sings Alexander's Feast

Past event
Nov 18, 2017, 7:30 to 9:30 PM

The Burlington Choral Society -- of which I'm a proud member -- will present "Alexander's Feast," G.F. Handel's rarely performed musical banquet for Alexander the Great next month.

Richard Riley will lead our 80-voice chorus, soloists and orchestra on Saturday, Nov. 18, 7:30 p.m. at the College Street Congregational Church in Burlington, VT. "Alexander's Feast" traces the Greek emperor's moods from triumphant to amorous to melancholy to murderous. The work ends with gorgeous movements celebrating Saint Cecilia, patron of musicians. Soloists will be Allison Devery, soprano; Gene Stenger, tenor; and George Cordes, bass.

Tickets are at the Flynn Box Office, FlynnTix and (802) 86-FLYNN. Prices are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors. I encourage you to buy your tickets in advance. More information is available at www.bcsvermont.org

Hoping to see you at the concert,
Philip

P.S. If you really want to plan ahead, our spring concert will be A Baltic Heartbeat: Choral Music from Latvia, on April 28, 2018, also at College Street Congregational Church.
