The second monthly “Business Matters in the Islands” breakfast meeting will be held on Thursday, December 19, from 8 to 9 a.m. at the Lake Champlain Islands Economic Development office in North Hero Village. All are welcome to this free opportunity for small businesses to network and learn about programs available to them. The speaker this week will be Cari Kelley, the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber’s Director of Leadership Development and Workforce Education.

The Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce launched its eLearning Center this fall, powered by Global Classroom. This Center hosts nearly 100 courses for small business, large business and non-profit organizations, with more courses coming on every week. There are currently eight “Centers” to help owners and employees get the on-line training that they need. These Centers focus on Microsoft Desktop, Accounting & Finance, Customer Service, Sales & Marketing, Communication and Collaboration, Leadership Management, Human Resources, and Software Programming.
