Open House at the “Bunkhouse” Dec. 15

Past event
Dec 15, 2013, 3 PM

On Sunday, December 15, we will be holding an open house at the “bunkhouse” at Stanley and Elaine Fitch’s from 3 to 5 p.m. at 261 Robinson Cemetery Road. For those of you who walk “the circle” (Maple Corner to Kents Corner to Robinson Cemetery Road or vice versa), you’ve watched John McCullough transform the building that began as a garage for my grandmother’s Model T into a home for my sister Diane. Now’s your chance to see inside! And you can also view Diane’s paintings.

The building was originally constructed by my great grandfather, Reuben Parker (past owner of the sawmill at Kents Corner), to house his daughter Mattie Fitch’s Model T. Mattie’s son, Stanley Fitch, converted it to a sugar house and later into a bunkhouse for his grandkids. Stan’s son-in-law, John McCullough, redesigned and rebuilt the bunkhouse into a year round home that still reflects its humble origins in what is now the Kents Corner/Old West Church Historic District. All are welcome to stop by.
