Russian for Families

Past event
Nov 7, 2017, 5:30 to 6:30 PM

If you are looking for a class that parents and children can attend together and are ready to start learning a new language from zero, come to our Russian for Families class on Tuesdays from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm. The class starts on November 7. Children age 8 and older and their grown up friends will enjoy conversations, games, songs, and role playing in Russian. Children under age 11 must be accompanied by an adult willing to learn a new language. If you are the only grown up in your family willing to explore a new language, you can join us only if you agree to get silly with us and play silly games that include charades, skits, dance and freeze, and occasional yard games that children play in Russia. Your homework will include a choice of watching YouTube (cartoons, short movies, songs, etc.) or doing on-line assignments using various computer-based resources. This is a class for beginners. If you have a higher level Russian, you are welcome to come and assist the teacher during our beginner's class. At the end of the class, the teacher will give you a higher-level assignment to complete at home.

Since space is limited, please register in advance with Bent Northrop Memorial Library by email at bnml.tammy@gmail.com or phone (802) 827-3945 by Friday, November 3.
