Recipes for Finding the Way, a cooking class in the tradition of Chinese Medicine and self-cultivation practices, continues this Saturday, October 21st with a focus on mindfulness eating.
Mindfulness is deliberately paying attention moment by moment to what's going on inside our bodies and minds and what's happening all around us - without judgment or criticism.
When we place mindfulness eating within the season of autumn we are given a special invitation: to gather our attention, listen, and let go of old habits to make way for new beginnings.
The format of this unique "cooking class" is a recipe of Qi Gong practice, sitting meditation, and exercises to guide us through questions such as:
In what ways do we experience hunger?
What is the relationship between food and mood?
How can we attune to sensations of fullness and emptiness, our partners in life?
To participate all you need is a breathing body with a good dose of curiosity and willingness to try.
