Hello neighbors,
What can we do to remain hopeful and active for the future of our kids on this beautiful and aching planet?
Mother Up! gatherings are trying to answer this question by bringing people together. We are families with young children whose parents want to stay active in protecting the next generation through environmental activism. We gather once a month at the North Branch Nature Center on rte 12, have a convivial dinner, and build community. Then we discuss current events related to climate change, and take an action step together to help build environmental awareness at the local and state level.
This coming Friday, we have the good fortune to have VPIRG come talk about what environmental bills will be discussed during the upcoming legislative session, what work they do to protect kids and families from environmental toxins (from water to toys,) and help us figure out how to make our voices heard with our representatives.
Dinner and childcare are provided. No need to hire a babysitter :)
Here is how each gathering unfolds:
5:30-6pm: Dinner and mingling
6-7:30pm: Program, clean up and pick up.
