Open Farm Day this Sunday, October 15, 12-5, at Cate Hill Orchard in Greensboro!
Come join us while we celebrate this bounteous apple season, as well as the end of our first full season of sheep dairying! Watch our farm team as we hand milk our flock of 25 sheep; process wool and sheep skins; and make cheese.
We'll have lamb curry and apple and lamb turnovers for sale; apple and cheese tastings; cider making; and a short orchard concert of songs about sheep, apples, and fall.
Schedule:
1 pm: Sheep Milking Demonstration
2 pm: Demos of traditional sheepskin tanning; washing raw wool in fermented suint (sheep sweat); wool processing; and cheesemaking
3 pm: Farm Song: sing songs about sheep, apples, and fall
4 pm: Farm and Orchard Tour
