Washington Electric Co-op is hosting its annual open house at its Coventry Landfill methane-fueled electricity generation facility next Tuesday, Oct. 17th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The public is welcome. You can tour a local source of baseload renewable power and learn about how electricity is produced and distributed. This is a particularly good opportunity for homeschoolers. Disposable foam earplugs provided on-site, or bring your own hearing protection. More details at http://www.washingtonelectric.coop/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/COVENTRY-OPEN-HOUSE-October-17.pdf.
(I’ll be driving there - about 50 min. from downtown Hardwick - and would be happy to take riders; call 563-2321.)
