You Are Invited!
October 14th 10 a.m. to 12-noon Kikas Valley Farm. Join us and the Jericho Conservation Commission as we hunt and destroy invasive Japanese barberry shrubs. Originally used as a landscaping plant, Japanese barberry has spread throughout Vermont’s forests and open fields. Wear appropriate clothing, good boots and work gloves. We will leave our cars in the parking area just before the first house in the Wingate development off of Tyler Place. Please contact us at julandtrust@gmail.com with any questions.
Kikas Valley Farm is a 290-acre property owned by the Jericho Underhill Land Trust. "Kikas" is the Abenaki word for the month of May and means "field planter". This land encompasses active farm land and forest. Trails offer non-motorized public access throughout. Kikas Valley Farm is located off of Skunk Hollow Road and Tyler Place in Jericho.
