Have you heard about the Opera Company of Middlebury? Maybe you think opera just isn't for you? I've attended some rehearsals this week of Donizetti's delightful comic opera - The Elixir of Love. The show will be presented this coming Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (matinee) at Town Hall Theater, Middlebury. The professional singers are wonderful in voice and acting, the story line is witty, and the music (with orchestra) is brilliant. Douglas Anderson is the director, and he fills the stage with one surprise after another. THIS SHOW IS FUN! It is sung in Italian, but the subtitles and the singers make clear every nuance of the action. There are three performances only. If you've always loved opera, or if you've never experienced one, see this one. It's terrific.
