Did you know that pepper plants are perennials? You can overwinter them, even in our Vermont climate, to replant in the Spring for a head start! Chile peppers are the best candidates for this treatment, but any pepper is worth a try. Join librarian and gardener Muir Haman for a demonstration and workshop on how to treat your chile peppers plants for overwintering. He will bring a few of his 3-, 4-, and 5- year old pepper plants, and will demonstrate the initial pruning to create a chile-bonsai. He can also help up to a handful of other gardeners to prune their chiles back. Please be sure to register if you would like to bring a pepper plant to prune.
