Choromondo Sings for Child Haven
On Saturday afternoon, October 14th, the sounds of South Africa, Eastern
Europe, Taiwan, Sweden, Georgia, Spain and other far-from Vermont cultures will
drift out the windows of Green Mountain Monastery.
The ten women who make up The Choromondo Touring Ensemble will be singing a
benefit concert to raise funds for Child Haven, a non-profit organization that
provides services that include housing, food and education, moral and emotional
support for women and children in developing countries.
Choromondo has been bringing women together from Quebec and Vermont to sing
an eclectic mix of traditional world music for 19 years and is directed by Quebec
artist and musician Allyna Harris. Their colorful costumes and enthusiasm for this
music make their performances a pleasure for all.
The concert will take place on Saturday, October 14th at 3pm at
Green Mountain Monastery, 420 Hillcrest Road, Greensboro Vermont. A suggested
donation of $15 will gladly be accepted at the door. For further information, call
802-533-2379 or visit Choromondo on Facebook.
A repeat performance of this concert will take place Sunday, October 15 at 94
Principale in Stanstead (Beebe), Québec.
