An Evening of Community and Support
Friday, October 13th, 5pm to 7pm, 64 Main Street, Montpelier (Christ Episcopal Church)
Vermonters are gathering to support Puerto Ricans rebuild after Hurricane Maria. We are connected with folks there in rural areas and in Food Justice movement - to help them re-build and re-establish agriculture by collecting seeds, tool and materials. We also are collecting herbs for those with serious illnesses with little to no access to medicines. We will have a current update on situation there. Please bring your ideas and practical know how. Building tools, herbs, seeds, first aid being collected.
Live music, dinner, healing practitioners, tarot readers, information about community efforts to support Puerto Rico and the silent auction begin at 5pm. At 6pm Vermonter and Puerto Rican Olga Mardach will offer a synopsis of the history of Puerto Rico, Food Sovereignty and ways Vermonters can stand with rural Puerto Ricans.
