SEARCHING FOR THE FROGS, TOADS, TURTLES, SALAMANDERS AND SNAKES OF LAMOILLE COUNTY. Jim Andrews Talk on Amphibians and Reptiles: Friday 13 October 2017, 7 pm, Green Mountain Technology and Career Center at Lamoille Union High School/Middle School, Hyde Park.

Presented by the Friends of Green River Reservoir (FGRR), this exciting program is free and open to the public, as the FGRR’s annual offering to the community of Hyde Park and beyond.

Jim Andrews is a great speaker, and has been called Vermont’s “number one Snake Man” and an “amphibian evangelist “for his work in locating and protecting the reptiles and amphibians of Vermont.

Using slides and stories, Jim Andrews will discuss the natural history, identification, and conservation of the reptiles and amphibians that have been found (or should be found) in Lamoille County. He hopes to encourage residents to find, photograph, and report the species that have not been documented from our area. He will tell us about the Vermont Reptile and Amphibian project (which he heads) and about where these fascinating creatures live, what they eat, how they find mates and how they survive winters.
The FGRR is a nonprofit membership group dedicated to preserving the unique habitat of Green River Reservoir State Park. Membership is open to all – see website for more information on the group and on the program http://www.fgrrvt.org/
