I would like to offer our community the opportunity to purchase an original Haitian Painting this coming Saturday in the Plainfield Community Center...upstairs from Coop.

For many years now,the Maple Valley Cafe had supported this ongoing fundraiser for the grass roots organization "L'Alternatif" in the small ,coastal village MONT RUIS,where 7 artists teach every day of the week a large group of street children for free.I stayed with them for a week just 2 years ago and marveled at their dedication and cooperation,artistry and all- around- care.They get help finding and developing their talent,help with school funds and daily meals.But sadly,our local outlet for Haitian paintings isn't available anymore and therefore I offer this opportunity to my community. ....Please come,bring neighbors and friends and share the spirit of 'giving' ,consider a gift for yourself or a loved one with an original Haitian painting or a unique metal work or donate what you can!..
.........cholera,malaria and unbelievable poverty ,lack of clean drinking water,lack of regular food supply ,lack of medical help and unstable or non-existent family are their daily 'bread'.....every amount helps ! Andrea Stefani
