Have You Heard of Bagna Cauda? an Italian Dinner

Past event
Nov 5, 2017, 5 to 7 PM

Bagna cauda will be one of the appetizers at the Vermont Italian Cultural Association’s annual Italian dinner, which benefits its Scholarship and Grants program. It will be held on Sunday, November 5th, at 5:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club on Shelburne Road in South Burlington. Literally translated as "hot bath," Bagna Cauda is a dipping sauce for vegetables and often appears in many Italian homes. In Italy, the routine goes like this: Vegetable pieces are dipped into the sauce (a fondue-style fork will help) and then eaten, with a slice of bread held underneath to catch the drippings. Once the bread is soaked with sauce, it's eaten, too.
The Club’s dinner will also include an Antipasto Salad; Stuffed Porchetta; Chicken Breast Cacciatore with sun-dried tomatoes and artichokes; Roasted Rosemary Potatoes and Vegetables; Penne Pasta with Formaggio Parmigiana; Home-made Breads; Zabaglione with berries and coffee.
A selection of Italian Wines and cocktails will be available for purchase. There will be music and a raffle.

Cost is $36 per person. You do not have to be a member to attend – all are welcome!
Tickets may be purchased by check mailed to Vermont Italian Club, P.O. Box 4054, Burlington, VT 05406-4054 or online at vermontitalianclub.org. Tickets must be purchased by October 29th since seating is limited!
(NOTE: If you are paying by check please include numbers of tickets needed.)
