Woodbury School Board Steering Committee Meeting Thursday, Oct. 12,
From 6:00 -7:30 pm at the Woodbury School Library.

Agenda: Discussion of ideas for Outdoor Education and a joint project of the town and Woodbury school for the schoolyard, wetlands and forests around the school.

At the last Steering Committee Meeting there was a lively discussion about developing an Outdoor Education program at Woodbury School. This topic has become a high priority of the committee during the last six months and at the last meeting there was great interest in collaborating with other groups in the community. Amy Masse, Woodbury School principal, shared what the school is doing now and some of the dreams for the schoolyard and adjoining wetland/nature trail area. Here are a few new ideas: more natural elements in the school yard for children to play on, an outdoor classroom, developing nature trail area and wetland and more. So for this upcoming meeting members of select board, conservation commission, Agency of Natural Resource representative and other interested members of the community have been invited. We are ready to start “digging in” to start developing a plan and timeline and we welcome anyone who has expertise and/interest to join in the conversation. For more information call Cacky Peltz 472-6524.
