River Arts invites local seniors to join a special day trip to the Shelburne Museum Monday, October 16th, 10:00a.m.-4:00p.m. The comfortable bus will depart from several locations in Johnson, Morrisville, and Stowe, before heading to the museum located in beautiful Champlain Valley. $10 Suggested donation and pre-registration required.
In addition to the extensive permanent collections of paintings, folk art, buildings, grounds, and New England history, the museum currently is hosting six special exhibits. Current exhibitions include “Sweet Tooth: The Art of Dessert” and “Upstream with Ogden Pleissner”. The Museum also has multiple textile art exhibits including a historic quilt collection “Pieced Traditions: Jean Lovell Collects,” “Carpet Diem: Molly Nye Tobey Designs for the Mid-Century Home,” and a collection of whimsical hooked rugs, “Hooked on Patty Yoder”.
