Exploring Vermont's Early Courts, Drug Abuse and Rails

As Vermont struggles with today’s opiate epidemic, historian and author Gary Shattuck provides historical context around opium use and abuse in Vermont in the 19th century, highlighting his use of archival materials in his research. An open house and tours of the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration will precede the program, beginning at 5 pm. Shattuck’s presentation is scheduled for 6 pm. This event is free and open to the public. The Vermont State Archives and Records Administration is located at 1078 US Route 2, Middlesex.
