This month's "Food for Thought" will be featuring Julie Wolcott from Green Wind Farm! Join us at Bent Northrop Memorial Library on Thursday, Oct. 12th, at 6pm to learn more about this local farm.
The conversation with Julie will include the history of the farm since it was settled in 1800 and the "maturity" of the farm under their care. Apple based beverages, both hard and sweet, will be available to sample.
Green Wind Farm, in Fairfield, is a 300 acre diversified organic homestead owned and run by Julie Wolcott and Stephen MacCausland and family since 1979. Acreage includes 47 acres of hay land, 50 acres pasture, 170 acres sugar woods, 30 mixed soft and hard woods.The farm produces milk and maple syrup for retail and wholesale markets plus fruits and vegetables for 3 families.
