Join the “Pull Against Poverty” , a tug of war event on Saturday, November 4th to benefit CVOEO and to raise awareness about the issue of our time—inequality. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to fund our diverse social justice programs. The event is at 2 p.m. in the Robert Miller Community Center in Burlington.

Teams of 8 participate by raising a minimum of $200 per team. Choose a cool name and register your team to start fundraising here: https://www.crowdrise.com/pullagainstpoverty. Here is the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/259243031254247/ .

Prizes include a team dinner to Arts Riot, BlueBird BBQ or Pauline’s Restaurant and Café, and for individuals, a pair of Flynn Tickets or a 6-month membership at HammerFit!

Any questions can be sent to kfischer@cvoeo.org .

Emerging from poverty is extremely difficult, and the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) staff and programs support our neighbors in need to do just that. We help people when hardship strikes, but we also help them to build better futures with financial capability skills training, early childhood education, weatherization, and much more.
