Octavia Randolph, author of the best-selling historical adventure series The Circle of Ceridwen Saga, will appear at the Varnum Memorial Library, Saturday November 4th at 3 pm. She will read from the Saga and answer questions about the novels, ninth century life, Anglo-Saxon and Viking warfare, the roles of women, food and clothing... Ask and she will answer!

If you have books you'd like her to sign, bring them. She will have copies of Book One and Book Six, "Silver Hammer, Golden Cross" to sell and sign, and Circle of Ceridwen postcards and bookmarks to sign and give to all.

The Circle of Ceridwen Saga has led Octavia to extensive on-site research in England, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and the Baltic island of Gotland, where several of the Saga books are set. In addition to the Circle Saga, she is the author of Light, Descending, a biographical novel of the great 19th century art and social critic John Ruskin: Ride, a retelling of the story of Lady Godiva; and The Tale of Melkorka, taken from the Icelandic Sagas. She has been the recipient of Artistic Fellowships at the Ingmar Bergman Estate, Sweden; the MacDowell Colony; Ledig House International; and Byrdcliffe.

The library will have multiple copies of the first book "The Circle of Ceridwen" available for checkout; call and reserve your copy today!
