The Tinmouth Conservation Commission is organizing a work day (more like half a day) at the Tinmouth Mountain Cabin in the Purchase. The work will largely be installing a composting toilet and building a compost bin for the waste. There are some other tasks that can be done as well, such as installing battens on the board and batten siding. We'll meet at the lower trail kiosk (winter parking area) at the start of the Pent Road at 11:00 A.M. next Sunday morning, Oct. 8). If you're interested, please call me beforehand so I know how many to expect for a truck shuttle up the Pent Road. Wear hiking/work clothes and bring a bag lunch. A back pack to carry some tools would also be helpful. The seasonal stream may be dry at this time of year, so bring water. I can supply necessary tools.
