The Peace & Justice Center is exploring the idea of forming a Peace Team to serve the Burlington Area as a force the community can called upon. The idea is that this collective may help de-escalate conflict for people with immediate need, walk around the city at night and/or during times where visible and direct violence is likely to occur, and help prevent violence by offering community members tools to de-escalate conflict and utilize active nonviolence in their day-to-day lives. The focus group will be led by Marina Kisyova, a Community Solutions Fellow with the Peace & Justice Center this Fall working on the Peace Team project. This event is for young people, up to the age of 25. Free and will include dinner! Please register so that we have an accurate count for the food.
