Book Discussion

Past event
Oct 4, 2017, 7 PM

Please join our book club at the Castleton Free Library on Wednesday, October 4th at 7:00 for a discussion of "Brown Girl Dreaming" by Jacqueline Woodson. This memoir of a girl growing up when "the world was changing like crazy" is the Vermont Humanities Council's Vermont Reads book for 2017. We still have copies available and you can pick one up for free at the library.

It is a lovely quick read so you'll have time to read it before the discussion but you don't need to finish it in order to attend. The book's themes will resonate with many readers of all ages.

On Thursday, October 19th at 7:00 we will have a Writer's Workshop for anyone interested in memoir, using Woodson's book as launching point for personal journeys. Attendees may schedule a follow-up session for sharing their stories with each other and discussing possibilities of reaching a wider audience through a blog, web project, or exhibit.

Please feel welcome to participate in one or both of the programs - anyway that works best for you! The programs are free, accessible and open to all.

Looking forward to seeing you!
