"Overcoming Hate with Love": On Sunday, October 1, 2017 The United Church of Johnson will host Tonya Langmaid of Lowell, who will tell the riveting story of her grandmother's (Lydia Gampe Eldred) incarceration, life in a concentration camp, escape, and determination to overcome hate with love. Lydia Gampe Eldred spent WWII in a concentration camp after soldiers kicked down the door of her home in Stuttgart, Germany. Her two brothers were forced to become soldiers for the Third Reich. Lydia and her sister were placed in separate concentration camps. All are welcome to come and hear Tonya as she shares the story of her grandmother's life. October 1, 2017, at 7:00 PM.
