Attendees will hear about the various types of diabetes that can occur and how they are differentiated, along with the risk factors and current treatments that are being used in diabetic care in an overview by Dr. Philip Lapp. Then, the key roles of nutrition and healthy food choices, as well as aerobic exercise and strength training will be discussed in terms of their powerful impact on managing and even preventing the onset of this disease. These topics will be presented by diabetic educator, Donna Hunt and physical therapist, Thomas Poole.
