Second Place Climate Change Session with MRV Libraries

Past event
Oct 5, 2017, 6:30 to 8:30 PM

Join the Mad River Valley Libraries for the second session of our "Climate Change and our Future: Mitigation, Adaptation and Dialogue" series. Meeting at the Moretown School, we will explore ideas around the theme of "Change" while discussing a short film and the book "Heat Wave: A Social Autopsy of Disaster in Chicago" by Eric Klinenberg. Copies of the book are available at all three libraries, although it is not necessary to read it to attend. With a "book club meets science cafe" format, we also welcome NOAA science partner Dr. Les Kanat of Johnson State College to discuss some of the science behind the changes we are seeing in our weather and climate. Although each session focuses on one theme related to this global problem, the overarching message is one of local people, local stories and coming together to enact necessary change.
