Fresh, Local Greens at the Burlington Farmers Market

Past event
Dec 7, 2013, 10 AM to 2 PM

Just because we live in northern Vermont, doesn't mean we have to buy California greens in December. Kales, collards and brussel sprouts can all withstand extreme cold. You can't harvest them when frozen, but after they thaw you can and they are phenomenally sweeter for it. Full Moon Farm in Hinesburg has rebounded from the single-digit temps of last week and have been harvesting like crazy. At the Sat., Dec 7th Burlington Winter Farmers Market in Memorial Auditorium from 10AM-2PM we will have field-fresh kales, collards, brussel sprouts plus salad greens that were spared in our high tunnels. We will also have all our usual certified organic root vegetables as well as our certified organic pork and chicken.
