The Circle, a film based on the novel by Dave Eggers

As a follow-up to our book discussion on Dave Eggers book THE CIRCLE on the previous Thursday, the Jeudevine Library will show the film version of the book on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 PM at the library with popcorn and cider followed by a discussion. The film stars Emma Watson and Tom Hanks. , Mae Holland, is hired to work for the Circle, the world’s most powerful internet company. The Circle, run out of a sprawling California campus, links users’ personal emails, social media, banking, and purchasing with their universal operating system, resulting in one online identity and a new age of civility and transparency. But, what begins as the captivating story of one woman’s ambition and idealism soon becomes a heart-racing novel of suspense, raising questions about memory, history, privacy, democracy, and the limits of human knowledge.
