Hello, Charlotte neighbors! We are delighted to invite you to a free reading with author Dawn Reno Langley, whose new novel takes place in large part at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. You can read more about the book and event below. (Some of you may know Dawn from her former life in VT - a nice opportunity to catch up!) RSVPs are always welcome, but if you want to come at the last minute, that's fine, too.
Cheers, Elizabeth

READING AND CONVERSATION with DAWN RENO LANGLEY Author of The Mourning Parade Tuesday, September 26 at 7 pm Dawn Reno Langley, a Vermont College of Fine Arts grad with thirty books out, has new novel -- The Mourning Parade, which came out to enthusiastic review this summer. It is the story of Dr. Natalie DeAngelo, a veterinarian who loses both of her sons in a tragic school shooting. After trying to deal with the media for a year, she finds she can’t heal and decides to volunteer at an elephant sanctuary in Thailand. While there, she meets an elephant who also struggles with PTSD, and they heal together. This deeply emotional novel explores the capacity of a mother's love, the challenge of overcoming a devastating loss, and the long, tiresome journey to healing.
Langley will join us for an evening reading, Q& A, and book signing.
