On the second weekend of October, local artists will be opening their studios to the public at Shelburne Pond Studios—a picturesque red barn nestled in a field of wildflowers overlooking idyllic Shelburne Pond. Art enthusiasts won’t want to miss this particular two-day event in Shelburne. Visitors are invited to wander freely among the studios for a second time this year. Beneath the barn’s towering twin silos, 9 of its resident visual artists and several guest artists will be on-hand to share their creative vision in a surprising variety of disciplines: painting, stone sculpture, jewelry, stained-glass, bookbinding, candles, assemblage art and more. Participating artists will share work-in-progress, answer visitor questions, and sell finished work. The focus of the fair will be small works, perfect for holiday gifts! Artists from the barn have contributed towards a special gift basket to be raffled off at the end of the event. (Details below)
