Blue Rewind performed by PH Dance and ErS Artistic Director, Paula Higa (Saturday night only)
Suite Sweet performed by Vital Spark North Artistic Director, Erika Schmidt
Yvonne’s opening veil dance is of Turkish and American influence blended into a modern style and the 2nd dance is based on the performance style of the Ottoman Köçhek dancers.
Hanna’s performance of Voice and Vessel is a moving tableau of sound and dance with a flexible performance structure.
Paula Higa will present an excerpt of Blue Rewind with her new Vermont based dance company. The piece was recently performed at UVM.
Vital Spark North will present suite sweet a performance in four parts. Artistic director, Erika Schmidt creates multidisciplinary live performance through the notion that it is a living and breathing organization of signs and symbols where the conceptual and physical coincide with equal purpose and intensity. Suite sweet speaks to disparity and resilience, to humor and to dance as historical translation.
