Savings Seeds for Food Sovereignty

Past event
Sep 25, 2017, 6 to 9 PM

All across the northern hemisphere, seeds of all varieties are ripening and preparing to drop to the ground. People are also preparing to collect and save those seeds - a timeless practice of preserving vital information and ensuring the continuity of life after the cold winter. The practice of seed-saving, which is threatened by the monopolies of big agri-business, is essential to conserving the agrobiodiversity of earth and protecting food sovereignty.

Join us Monday night (9/25), 6:00 - 9:00 pm, at the McClure Multigenerational Center (241 N. Winooski Ave) with Anne Miller, a seasoned Vermont seed-saver, for a screening of “Seed: The Untold Story”, followed by a discussion and Q&A session after the film. We may even have some seeds to swap, so feel free to BYO seeds!!

This event is family-friendly, and by donation (suggested $10). All proceeds support our guest instructors and the ongoing workshop/outreach efforts of Burlington Permaculture - a grassroots community organization.
