Local Climate Action for Vermont Faith Communities

We can’t rely on national leadership to address climate change.
Local action is more important than ever!

Join us at Vermont Interfaith Power and Light’s annual conference, “Building Local Resilience-Inspiring Local Climate Action”. This gathering of climate activists and faith community members will focus on building local resilience and inspiring climate action in our local communities, where it can be most effective. The Conference will be held Saturday, October 21, 10AM-4PM, at the First Congregational Church, 3624 Main Street, Manchester, VT.

Vermont Interfaith Power and Light (VTIPL, www.vtipl.org) is a Vermont non-profit,501c(3) whose mission is to support the efforts of faith and spiritual communities to take action on global climate change.

The conference will feature:

Keynote Speaker: Deb Markowitz, former Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources

Workshops Topics:
· Building Resilient Communities
· Climate Legislation Advocacy
· Climate Science Update
· Resources for Energy Projects
· Effective Community Organizing
· Watershed Stewardship
Plus: Roundtable discussion on fossil fuel divestment, catered lunch, sponsors’ exhibits and book table, as well as music and spiritual sharing
