"Organizing Your DNA Results" this Saturday - September 23.
Using DNA tests to help with family history is a booming business and the ads promise simple answers to tough questions. But reaity hits when we start trying to make sense of all our new genetic cousins & to figure out where to put them in our family tree. This talk will discuss what information to focus on and how to organize it. The handout will include templates and forms to help with the process.

"Beginning Italian Genealogy Research" September 30
This new class is designed especially for beginners in Italian Genealogy. As you may know it can be difficult getting started on your search. The class will cover basics in research methods and show you the best practices for beginning your family tree. We will start with the present and work backwards to the past using immigration, naturalization, census and vital records in the U.S. and Italy. A power point presentation with several actual examples will be used to illustrate how to begin a successful search for your Italian ancestors.

Classes at the Vermont Genealogy Library are $10.00 and run from 10:30 to noon. The library is located on Hegeman Ave, Fort Ethan Allen, Colchester. Parking and entrance are across from the State Police Garage. Visit our website www.vtgenlib.org/general/directions.php or call 802-310-9285 for more details.
