This Saturday, September 23, at 8:00 p.m., seven area choruses will join their voices in song to promote peace in our world at the 10th Annual Vermont Sings For Peace Concert at the Chapel of Saint Michael the Archangel located on the campus of Saint Michael’s College in Colchester. The concert is free and open to all. You are welcome to donate to this year’s charity recipient: Migrant Justice.

This Saturday’s concert will feature songs of peace performed by host group Counterpoint, Robert De Cormier and Friends, a cappella jazz octet Maple Jam, Bella Voce Women’s Chorus, Vermont Choral Union, Social Band and The Monteverdi Young Singers and everyone in the audience will have the opportunity to sing along to some well-known tunes connected with the peace movement.

The tradition continues...
10 years ago, beloved Vermont Symphony Chorus director (and Music Director for Peter Paul and Mary) Robert de Cormier and longtime folk musician and peace activist Pete Seeger developed the idea for a great gathering of musicians and the public to join together in song to promote world peace and to support peace organizations around the world. The first Vermont Sings For Peace concert in 2007 was held at the Unitarian Universalist Church at the top of Church Street. This wonderful tradition carries on today, hosted by Counterpoint - a professional Vermont-based ensemble founded by Robert De Cormier.

What the world needs now is LOVE, sweet LOVE and PEACE!
