Girl Scout Troop 30187 is hosting a celebration of their Bronze Award project. They would like to invite all of Winooski to come to JFK Elementary School this Saturday 09/23 at 4:00pm. The event will begin promptly at 4:15pm. They will open with their color guard before presenting their project. Their project is about pet homelessness and how to keep them in their original homes. We have partnered with a local non-profit, Lucy's House for the Prevention of Homeless Pets. Afterwards, we will have stations set up for making no sew cat and dog toys. We hope you will make one to donate and one to take home to your furry friend.
The Bronze Award is the third highest award that any Girl Scout can earn. The Junior level scouts (4-5th grade) work to select a topic, build a team, design and implement a plan to accomplish it. Each girl must contribute a minimum of 20 hours to the project. I am proud to say that our 12 girls worked very hard and averaged 24 hours each.
We are open to all girls K-12 who would like to join the adventure. Contact Amy Snow Lothrop @ 802-373-7288 with any questions.
