Seeking willing hands for Tues Sept 19th and Thurs Sept 21st, 10:30am - 3:30pm.
A charitable, organic farm near Jericho has potatoes ready for harvest. Farmer Charlie will dig beds of potatoes the day before our first glean, simplifying our work greatly; the only tools we'll need are our hands!
These two days of harvest are expected to yield thousands of pounds of potatoes!
The potatoes will be transported to the Vermont Commodity Program - our state's first food-hub - in Winooski; there they'll be sorted, processed, and packed for distribution to food shelves and meal sites in our communities throughout the fall and winter.

Gleaning is the act of harvesting excess vegetables from farm fields.
Salvation Farm's mission is to build increased resilience in Vermont's food system through agricultural surplus management.
