As part of our commitment to meeting in all of our towns, the Mount Mansfield Modified Union School Board and Chittenden East Supervisory Union Governing Board will hold a meeting Monday September 18th, 6:30 PM at Brewster Pierce Memorial School in Huntington. After officially welcoming Derek Miodowink to the board (appointed, from Richmond), we will have an informational tour of the new HVAC system, and receive an informational report from the Principal.
Following the opportunity for community comments, we will receive a student assessment data report. Regular board business will include a Superintendent Report, discussing our Policy Governance work, appointing a delegate to the annual Vermont School Board Association Meeting, and hear reports from committees: ad hoc Assessment (recommends dissolving and moving responsibilities to the Finance committee), Policy (working on clarifying policy in contrast to procedure in policy governance), Finance (recommends using capital reserve funds for an unexpected repair), Negotiations (negotiating teacher and staff contracts that expired July 1), and Community Engagement (supporting the board to inform district goals).
The next planned meeting is October 2nd at 6:30 including a tour of the Browns River Middle School and Underhill ID Elementary School parking lot project.
The Mount Mansfield Modified Union School Board and Chittenden East Supervisory Union Governing Board conventionally have joint meetings, generally the first and/or third Mondays of each month. MMMUSD includes Mount Mansfield Union High, Browns River Middle, Camel’s Hump Middle, Jericho Elementary, Richmond Elementary, Smilie Memorial (Bolton), Underhill Central, and Underhill I.D. schools. CESU includes Special Education, Transportation, and Central Office for both MMMUSD and the Huntington elementary school. The Brewster Pierce Memorial School Board (Huntington) meets separately.
